Nothing a little orange sherbet can't fix

At bedtime I called the kids upstairs by shouting down to them, "calling my loyal subjects, this is the queen, I wish you to come upstairs." And like the good subjects they are, they came.

But as Roxy said our family prayer, her loyality came into question.

She stated some things we're grateful for, asked for a couple of blessings, then proceeded to say she does not respect her mom as queen, but that she does love her mom. And closed the prayer.

About 20 mins and one bowl of sherbet later I gained her respect as queen.

A few weeks ago, my six year old really wanted to go to a friend's house. It wasn't a good time and I wouldn't let him. He kept nagging and I kept saying no. After a while he finally went away to ponder things outside. Eventually, he sent his older brother in to get me so that he could talk to me. He said something to the effect of, "Mom, I've been thinking about this and I've decided that you're just not family material anymore. You won't let me do things that make me happy." Apparently, I'm not the queen of my house either.

Ha! I love that she did that during the prayer. She's smart. But not smart enough to outsmart you, you and your orange sherbet.

Hail to the Queen.

My ancesters left Europe for that very reason!

They hated the corrupt monarchy and how they were always trying to manipulate their subjects with iced deserts.

Nevertheless, I'm not going to tell you how to run your kingdom...

Ha! I love it! And I love the kiddo who told his mom she wasn't "family material" anymore.

So, TJ, where in UT do you live? I happen to be in Provo and would like to go see Wall E at the dollar theater while here, wondered if you wanted to meet up with me.... I'd either go Mon or Wed (Tues is $2 entrance to Thanksgiving Point).
